BOMBTRACK HOOK 2 & 3: TREADLYCX BIKE CHECKS

A little while ago, we got in touch with Bombtrack Bicycle Co about how we could increase their visibility in the local CX scene - we love the BT 'cross range, and we just weren't seeing them get raced. Perhaps, we thought, it's because nobody else was seeing them raced locally either - just in photoshoots - and so they simply weren't on the radar. The solution was to get a few of our Treadly CX team on Hooks - our two A-grade riders Max and Seal happened to be in the market for new bikes which worked out pretty well for all involved!

Once built up, I took Max's Hook 3 and my Hook 2 up to our local parking lot for a bike check and a couple of photos. Initial thoughts are pretty excellent, with Max upgrading from his China carbon #sparklecx bike and myself finding the shorter and slightly steeper front end of the BT suits me better than the more laid-out Kona I'd been riding.

Currently the only change Max has made is a longer stem and some Schwalbe rubber on his 3, whereas I stripped my 2 down and put on some of the racier stuff I'd been running on my Kona - including a Stans Grail wheelset, 3T stem, Cinelli Hobo handlebar, Thomson Masterpiece post, and a mixed groupset consisting of Rival shifters and cranks, TRP's Spyre brakes, an Absolute Black 40t Oval chainring, 11-36 cassette and a GX rear mech. All finished off with some XT pedals a Fabric's excellent Silicon Tape and Line saddle (which I've since changed for something that doesn't hold quite so much mud).

More in-depth reviews of both bikes to come once the Winter season is done and dusted!

The Treadly CX team ride Bombtrack, wear MAAP, burn through Schwalbe rubber filled with StansNoTubes and eat Good Fuel.

Don't forget - Bombtrack bikes are on currently on sale at up to 30% off! Come in and have a chat about which one suits you best!
